1. Interconnect SBC
- Orchid provides efficient SIP switching and interworking, incorporating intelligent routing – implementing routing rules based on a broad range of parameters, full MNP interaction support, call barring functionality, digit manipulation, CDR generation, and logical virtual partitioning.
- Orchid is a versatile platform that can function simultaneously as both an SBC and a class 4 switch. The SBC function includes security features like such as thwarting DDoS attempts, topology hiding, and efficient call admission control.
- The Signalling Adaptation Framework is a highly flexible component that enables Orchid to interwork with every SIP flavor available in the market. This makes Orchid an efficient interconnect SBC bridging IMS and NGN networks, serving as a peering element, and functioning as a class 4 switch routing between carrier trunks.
2. Orchid Probe: MNP Lookup
Adapting To An MNP Regime
Cataleya’s Orchid Probe, built on the award-winning Orchid platform, facilitates carriers in swiftly adjusting to the introduction of Number Portability in their national network.
The system mirrors the national number portability database and provides a SIP or ENUM-based interface for carriers to perform real-time NP lookups. This eliminates the need for other existing switches to update their architecture when transitioning to a new NP environment.
As carriers typically employ diverse vendor products, facing time and cost pressures for effective transitioning to an MNP environment, Cataleya’s system seamlessly interworks with each vendor’s products. It can provide specific adaptations to meet the varying needs of these vendors.
Enabling a seamless move to an MNP-aware routing environment without the need for modification of existing switches
