The Signalling Adaptation Framework is a highly flexible component that enables Orchid to interwork with every SIP flavor available in the market. This makes Orchid an efficient interconnect SBC bridging IMS and NGN networks, serving as a peering element, and functioning as a class 4 switch routing between carrier trunks.

The system mirrors the national number portability database and provides a SIP or ENUM-based interface for carriers to perform real-time NP lookups. This eliminates the need for other existing switches to update their architecture when transitioning to a new NP environment.
